One of the highest-grossing horror films, The Conjuring, is gearing up for its grand finale. The much-anticipated horror sequel is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX on September 5, 2025.
Although the upcoming film remains untitled, the The Conjuring universe will continue to expand with other spin-offs, prequels, and related titles such as “Annabelle” and “The Nun.”
Directed by James Wan and produced by Peter Safran, The Conjuring centers on the paranormal investigations of Lorraine Warren and Ed Warren, portrayed by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. Over the past decade, the chilling encounters and cases solved by the Warrens have captivated audiences worldwide.
In light of the upcoming The Conjuring finale, New Line Cinema has adjusted its release schedule for Maggie Gyllenhaal’s film Bride!. This fresh take on the classic story, featuring Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley, is now slated for release on September 26, 2025.
For the highly anticipated The Conjuring finale, the creators promise an immersive experience as fans prepare to say goodbye to one of the most iconic horror franchises.
The first The Conjuring film, released in 2013, was a massive success, grossing over $319 million worldwide. The franchise later introduced The Nun, which surpassed its predecessor with over $366 million in global earnings. Overall, the franchise has accumulated more than $2 billion at the box office, adding another $269 million to its impressive total.
Additionally, The Curse of La Llorona, directed by Michael Chaves, is often mistakenly associated with The Conjuring universe. However, Chaves has clarified that it is not part of the series.
Chaves explained, “There’s so much debate about it, and I think I’ve played coy in the past. The idea was that [the Annabelle cameo] was going to be this little hidden thing that you’d discover while watching the movie. One of the reasons it couldn’t formally be a part of The Conjuring universe is that it didn’t include one of the key producers, Peter Safran. The Conjuring is his project, along with James Wan, and they are still the core producers.”
