Margot Robbie, the star of “Barbie,” is pregnant. Multiple media outlets have confirmed that the Australian actress and producer is expecting her first child with her husband, Tom Ackerley, an English film producer and actor. However, their representatives have not yet confirmed the news.
The couple, who are highly regarded in the industry, first met on the set of the film “World War II,” where Ackerley was an assistant director and Robbie was one of the actors.
Initially, Robbie and Ackerley were just good friends and colleagues at the production company LuckyChap, which also includes Robbie’s childhood friends, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr.
LuckyChap, a prominent production company, has produced several acclaimed films such as “I, Tonya,” “Birds of Prey,” and “Barbie,” with Robbie playing leading roles in all of them.
In a media interview, Tom Ackerley spoke about their relationship, stating, “It’s seamless for us. There’s no on-and-off switch; it’s all integrated into one. You can’t predict exactly how much something will make, who will see it, or how it will be received. This feels much more straightforward and easier to anticipate. You can map it out on a spreadsheet in a way that you can’t with a movie idea”.
Aside from her acting career, Margot Robbie has also produced several films, including “Barbie,” where she starred as well. For those who may not know, “Barbie” was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Picture category.
Tom Ackerley, Margot Robbie’s husband, is both an actor and producer. As of 2024, several of his projects feature his wife. His production company also has two upcoming series, “Big Bold Beautiful Journey” and “Queens of The Air,” which have not yet been released.
