If you’re looking for something beyond a typical teen drama, this British spy thriller might be just what you need. The story of Alex Rider is based on the novels by Anthony Horowitz and follows the adventures of a teenage boy recruited by a secret MI6 division to confront global threats.
Created by Guy Burt, this series holds a notable place in Amazon’s history as its first scripted British original series. The initial screen adaptation of the series, titled Stormbreaker, was released in 2006. The Amazon series represents the second adaptation, produced by Sony Pictures Television and Eleventh Hour Films.
The first season of Alex Rider premiered on Amazon Prime Video in the UK on June 4, 2020, featuring eight episodes and based on the book Point Blanc. The success of this season led to a quick renewal, and the second season, which adapted the book Eagle Strike, premiered on December 3, 2021, on IMDb TV.
Currently, Alex Rider has three seasons. The British thriller aired its series finale in April 2024. There is no news about a fourth season as the creators have announced that season 3 would be the final chapter.

Unfortunately, there will not be a fourth season of Alex Rider. The third and final season premiered on April 5, 2024, on Amazon Freevee. Despite its initial success on Amazon Prime Video, the series had to move to different platforms for its subsequent seasons. Alex Rider Season 4 Plot
In Alex Rider, we follow a seemingly ordinary teenager living in London with his uncle, Ian Rider. Though Ian appeared to be a banker, he was actually an undercover agent for a secretive division known as The Department. Alex eventually learns that his uncle was killed while working as a British spy, though he initially believed the death was a car accident. This revelation propels Alex into a new life.
Recruited by Alan Blunt, the head of the shadowy MI6 branch, Alex discovers he has been trained from a young age for the world of espionage. To investigate his uncle’s death and its connection to the murders of two billionaires, Alex adopts a new identity and enrolls as an undercover agent at Point Blanc, a remote boarding school in the French Alps. This school, which claims to rehabilitate troubled children from wealthy families, is actually the site of a sinister plot by the enigmatic Doctor Grief, which Alex must thwart.
